Every rider can do it!
Yes, some riders are more talented than others, but no doubt the gap widens because they receive better training!
It appears there are broadly two problems:
- Top trainers are sometimes not interested in riders working at the lower levels
- Many riding instructors are not able to coach for long term development
Theoretically, riding instructors should deliver a sound basis that would enable each rider to progress, should they wish to, as far as their own natural ceiling allows. Sadly that is not always the case.
Having had help for a number of years from an Olympic trainer, and enlightened countless novice or uneducated riders since then, it is obvious to me that given the chance, every rider can indeed do it!
