More Photos Check out the Gallery to follow Day 3 of Zorro's retraining in a slideshow. I look forward to posting a second slideshow of his ridden training before too long. | This is Zorro with his owner on Day 3 of his rehabilitation! Previously described as "her bonkers horse", 8 year old Zorro had appeared to forget the excellent, professional start he'd received as a 4 year old. Without any help, and his owner struggling to further his development or even sustain the status quo, he increasingly made his own decisions to ensure his own safety, and became a liability to handle. Riding him was out of the question. Even moving between field and stable was a nightmare for his owner, and in the fly season he was impossible to deal with! Here was a classic case of a failed relationship between human and equine. However, there were no inherent problems in either party, and by the end of Day 3 of retraining, he was gelling with his owner and she admitted that a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. She is now able to enjoy working with her horse and introducing him to "scary stuff" prior to commencing ridden work once more. |
